After a couple of years of inactivity, I’m back.
My old domain, martynsmith.org, is alive and well again. And points here. As does martyns.info, which I have plan for.

But yes, for now, hello again!

Wowzers..

May 4, 2009

What a month Mays shaping up to be.

Kareoke last night was interesting and, as I suspect is always the case, it was finishing time just as it was starting to get good.

Anyway, Elo or the Orchestra in Edinburger next weekend – if funds allow.

Oh noes…

You know your getting old when your nephew celebrates his first birthday…and it only seems like yesterday you were ferrying folk up to the hospital to celebrate his entrance into the world.

Crumbs!

Wee man

Wee man

Next it’ll be his first legal beer!

I know I should write more often…

March 10, 2009

…but honestly! It’s a time thing! Take today, for instance,  I’ve been up since the back of four as my flatmate needed the cars to my car so he could jump start his for an early start.

Subsequently, all attempts to jump said car failed. My car’s also now lost all charge and is parked, nay abandoned, in the communal parking area. Err, oops!

So yeh..it’s the Megabus to work for me this morning.

On the bright side I’ve been meaning to walk a bit more, rather than drive everywhere. Guess this is my chance to shine!

Stubbie holder...now just requires a beer

Stubbie holder...now just requires a beer

A listener visiting from Oz brought this in today…a few of us went out for beers on Saturday and, after witnessing my drinking ‘ability’, he thought this would be suitable!

Still ace all the same!

WTF?

Crisps

Crisps

Still to brave a packet…still remember the urban myth from childhood, of the chocolate flavoured crisps. Seems that ones true as well >_<

Kare does as Oke doesn’t

Night out plus several beers equals Karoke. Now I see the appeal.

But why oh why did we have to murder one of my favourite songs of alltime (so far) I’m sure I could hear jeers from the crowd as we ripped into an awful rendition of Profit in Peace. A great song, but hardly Saturday night pub material.

Next time we’re taking on the h0ff, I swear!

Parklife!

Parklife!

All the people, so many people… :)

Just Google it?

February 2, 2009

Good to see some nice old human error in a digital world, ain’t it?!

So next time maybe we should MSN search it? Doubt it :)

Keep on truckin’

November 23, 2008

So..the domain debacle rumbles on.

Week after week of chasing Compila has resulted in nothing. Not one single piece of correspondance. I suspect things are not well, but it’d be foolish of me to suggest in the public domain that things may have gone to the shits. With a complete lack of any communication I fired off an email to Icaan which then resulted in some correspondance from BB online. As it transpires, Compila were simply a reseller..or something. I don’t care, all I want is MY domain. And an apology or explanation as to why things have become so drawn out.

It looks like neither is forthcoming. As I couldnt pay BB online on the spot (plus, having anything to do with Compila I told them I wanted to register through an agent of MY chosing) I’ve basically been told there’s no more that can be done. By the time they ‘intervened’ it was too late to re-register my domain through a company I felt comfortable contacting and, more worryingly, every correspondance seemed to have more emphasis on me handing over credit card details than actually getting to the root of the problem – ie Compila’s absolute disregard for customer care.

Hi Martyn,

Sorry to hear about the bad experience you are having with our reseller.
The domain name has been activated again. If you can contact us with your credit card details, we will be able to renew the domain name for you but be aware that the domain is working with Compila name servers.

Kind regards

So there we have it. No domain, no explanation as to what’s gone wrong in the whole process, no idea as to when – and even if – I’ll be able to re-register my domain.

Sad times :(
