Saw/heard the new trail on sky last night, but by all accounts it seems the ‘new’ episodes are, in actual fact, a rehash of the new movies. Shortened and such, obviously!
Thus I am confused. Can a re-hashed movie really be classed as new, as in a new series?
More to the point, why am I caring. Futurama’s back!
Clearly there is no holiday season called Retromas…which is a pity. ‘Cos there should be.
Regular readers to this half arsed blog may recall a post in June detailing what I’d like to do with an old NES controller. In the past couple of months I’ve actually gone and changed my mind, and instead have rekindled a childhood love of the NES. So far, it’s expanded only as far as Super Mario Bro’s 3 but, largely thanks to Ebay, Days of Thunder is on it’s way. I last played the game some 16 or so years ago, fingers crossed it won’t be as shit as the movie!
PS – If I can be bothered, a review of DOT may follow
PPS – Isn’t ironic everyone seemed dissapointed that the end of the world didn’t happen. Figures.
The answer? Clearly when you add a plus symbol, plus random artist name X…
I am, of course, referring to the recent Queen + Paul Rogers single which is out to buy tomorrow. More to the point, it’s Brian May, Roger Taylor + Paul Rogers dicking about with the Queen brand.
To say the finished product – that is the single – is poor, well it’s like saying Scotland will never win the World Cup!
In their day, and in their own right, all three were – and still are – very talented musicians. I just can’t help feeling that the legacy that was left intact (save for that awful collaboration with Five a few years back) has now been pissed on from a great height.
Still, we can but hope the album ain’t as bad…though I’m not feeling very hopeful
Another few weeks passed then, another few boxes ticked in the diary.
Busy times, but then busy times allow the purchasing of new toys. It’s all gravy! Bought a newer base unit off a mate at the weekend and, after some fiddling about with the memory, its now running. Or will be, when I get my hands on a new Keyboard as it seems USB is the way forward.
Anyway, it’s another job for another day. Most likely tomorrow!
Before I begin, there’s brownie points for the film-quote title!*
This week’s been a good ‘un, so far, for a number of reasons. Firstly – and perhaps least importantly – I’ve got regular access to the internet again. Four months after moving out of the folks and we’re back online! Huzzah! Truth be told, I think I missed being able to nip online more than I’d like to admit.
Anyway…a weekend of open days and go karting is almost forgotten, but aside from winning a nice trophy for my Nigel Mansell like ability (or lack of) the weekend was an eye-opener to other activities that could potentially claim whatever free time I have. In between races I was lucky enough to get a few runs round the circuit as a passenger with a couple of ADMC drivers, including the current ladies tarmac champion. I’ve since spoken to a few of the guys (and gals) and discovered that there is a place in motorsport for average joe an his Ford Fiesta.
I’d say sign me up but the forms are already in the post! Expect photos to follow!
Just a week to go. Supergrass headlining. A number of top-notch local bands and, recently confirmed, The Dykeenies as well.
Put simply, I can’t wait!
I was meant to go see The Dykeenies at the Tunnels back in February – but for a bizzare and unimpressive list of reasons, I didn’t end up going. I’ve never been let that slip since!
The festival may only be a week away, but it just seems like yesterday I was sat in the studio reading the press release, confirming this years headliners.
Expect blog-tastic jollication sometime in a week and a half.
